**Job Description**:
This position within the company is for an attorney who will be responsible for supporting the daily legal needs of the Technicolor Games business unit - with studios in Bangalore, London, Montreal and Los Angeles. This position will be based in London or Montreal and will report to the VP Business Affairs & General Counsel - Technicolor Creative Studios, who is located in Los Angeles. This role has a strong and direct interface with senior management of the business unit (based in London), the global businesses development department (currently based in the UK and the U.S. with expansion plans in Asia), outside counsel, and global suppliers and customers.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide comprehensive legal support for the negotiation, structuring, and drafting of a high volume of work-for-hire commercial transactions/production services agreements with gaming studios.
- Provide counsel and risk mitigation strategies to business executives and others on a broad range of complex and developing legal and business issues for a fast-developing group within Technicolor including those related to developer tools, game design, asset creation and testing for platforms.
- Coordinate and collaborate with global cross-functional partners in legal, content security, privacy, operations, finance, sourcing and production to help ensure consistency in compliance standards across our global studio and various gaming customer commitments.
- Provide creative solutions to the business and resolve issues in practical ways taking into consideration the business and legal context and needs.
**Qualifications**:
- J.D. or equivalent qualifications from a recognized law school, certified to practice law in good standing in the applicable jurisdiction.
- 4-6 years’ negotiating and drafting experience with commercial transactions in the gaming, media/entertainment or technology industries.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable and adept at supporting a fast-paced, evolving business, balancing legal risk and thinking creatively to propel the business forward and promote smart decisions.
**Desirable experience**
- Experience working in a fast-paced, start-up environment preferred.
- In house experience at a game services company preferred.
- In house experience at a game developer, publishing platform or production studio will also be considered, but is not required.
