Shipping and Receiving Assistant

Quik's Farm Ltd. is a wholesale cut flower grower based in Chilliwack, BC, with over 20 acres of indoor and an additional 35 acres of seasonal outdoor growing space. Quik’s Farm is geared towards the intense production of cut Chrysanthemums, Oriental Lilies, Alstroemeria, and other seasonal crops utilizing state-of-the-art growing systems and leading-edge technology to produce high quality products for our diverse customer base throughout Western Canada and the Pacific Northwest USA.

We are currently hiring for a Shipping and Receiving Assistant. This position offers you an opportunity to be part of a dynamic, fun-loving, and growing team

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work under the direction of the Logistics Manager to ensure shipments meet tight timelines.
- Assemble pallets and crates, pack goods for shipment, and prepare labels and documentation.
- Oversee the safe and accurate loading and unloading of goods from trucks.
- Inspect and verify incoming and outgoing goods, report discrepancies, and document shortages or damages.
- Route and organize materials into appropriate storage locations.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklift) when necessary, adhering to safety protocols.
- Ensure safe handling and storage of materials, including chemicals and fragile goods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping and receiving area.
- Support inventory accuracy by assisting with counts and tracking goods as needed.
- Assist with order pulling process.

**Qualifications and Requirements**:

- Ability to work independently while also contributing as a supportive team member.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with different departments effectively.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to operate equipment safely (forklift training is an asset).
- Physically capable of lifting 50lbs, bending, and standing for long periods.
- Prior experience in shipping, receiving, or logistics is an asset.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations or floriculture/agriculture industry is a bonus.
- Drivers License is a must.
- Air brakes endorsement considered an asset.

**Education & Experience**
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Additional training or certification in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain operations is an asset.
- Forklift operator certification is considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics is preferred.
- Experience in floriculture, agriculture, or related industries is a bonus.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate material handling equipment, with forklift experience highly desirable.

**Language Requirement**
- Must be fluent in English, both spoken and written.

This position may require you to work on Saturdays and Statutory holidays. There will be no Sunday work.
