JOB REQUIREMENTS
**Required**:
- College Diploma or University degree in security or related field
- Basic Security Guard Training certificate
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Valid Certification training in Non-Violent Crisis intervention, de-escalation and crisis management.
- Valid G driver’s license
- Completion of International Association for Safety and Security
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history
**Experience**:
- Five years’ previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a hospital or health care setting
- Knowledge and experience dealing with those under the Mental Health Act
- Knowledge of Trespassing Act
**Skills**:
- Demonstrated note taking and report writing skills
- Proven analytical/critical thinking skills
- Exhibits confidence, assertiveness, and control behaviours
- Demonstrated communication skills
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Results oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Models and promotes core ethical practices and GBGH values with all internal and external stakeholders
- Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance history is a requirement of this position.
**Assets**:
- Bilingual - English and French
- Experience with the Incident Management System 100 (IMS), incident protocols and live event facilitation
- Current experience with complex security technology and access control systems

**Hours of Work**: Permanent Part Time, scheduled up to 24 hours a week. Must be available to work shifts including days, evenings, nights and weekends. Shifts and hours may change according to departmental requirements and as per the SEIU collective agreement.
**Salary**:$25.87 - $26.38 an hour
