**Job Summary**

The **Maintenance Aide** is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Manager in the effective functioning, upkeep and physical appearance, furniture, and equipment in the Home.

**Responsibilities**:

- Regularly maintaining equipment and furniture and provides general upkeep to the physical site.
- Maintains the appearance and upkeep of the home by implementing regular painting and decorating as directed, ensures all furniture and fixtures are operational and in good repair as directed.
- Helps in conducting regular preventative maintenance activities
- Participates in regular fire and emergency preparedness drills
- Helps to implement a regular daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly schedule of preventative maintenance activities to ensure the home and equipment are safe and in good working order
- Provides minor building, electrical, plumbing and equipment repair services as per the direction of the Maintenance manager.
- Identifies and investigates physical deficiencies and equipment malfunctions and brings it to the attention of the maintenance manager
- Receives and stores all non-kitchen related deliveries
- Wear personal protective equipment (or clothing) as required by task, MSDS, or home policy.
- Must be prepared to help when called upon in emergency situations

**Qualifications**:

- Experience as a maintenance worker preferred
- Demonstrated skills in light carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, and equipment maintenance preferred
- Certificate from a program in general maintenance (an asset)

**Salary**: $17.00-$18.00 per hour
