Lonely Mouth is looking for an experienced bartender to fill out their team on a full-time contract. Bartenders are responsible for several functions including, but not limited to, providing exceptional customer service to all guests in a prompt, friendly and professional manner, following all laws and regulations regarding liquor service, creating interesting and unique cocktails from scratch, stocking the bar and cooler, setting up, taking down and sanitizing the bar completely, and preparing all the bar syrups, and garnishes. **RESTAURANT SUMMARY**
Located in the heart of 17th Avenue’s bustling hospitality scene, Lonely Mouth is Calgary’s newest sake bar serving an eclectic variety of modern Japanese food and drink. Vibrant sushi hand rolls and freshly pulled house-made udon are paired with a curated sake list and thoughtful cocktail program. With its focus on craftmanship and expertise, Lonely Mouth Bar will inspire, invoke, and feed the curious.
**COMPENSATION**
- $15.00 per hour + tips.
- Extended health benefits after three months for all employees working an average of 28+ hours per week.

**DUTIES & ESSENTIAL **RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Create, educate, mix, pour, garnish, and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for the bar and restaurant guests.
- Consistently execute drink production principles and practices, ensuring that all recipes and practices are followed.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to all guests, while maintaining a personable and professional image representative of the restaurant’s values.
- Building and maintaining regular clientele.
- Adapt to different personalities of clients, vendors, and coworkers to maintain high service levels and efficient operations.
- Be ready and willing to assist fellow servers as situations arise.
- Be ready and willing to assist serving assistants by clearing and resetting tables.
- Ensure all services and orders delivered within the bar operation are charged for correctly.
- Maintain effective cost and portion controls to meet profit goals.
- Ensure all surfaces and equipment are kept clean and in excellent condition through personal inspection and by following the restaurant’s preventative maintenance programs.
- Ensure drink times are in line with the restaurant guidelines.
- Assist in placing product orders and ensure products are always fresh using a detailed and updated order guide.
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, provincial, and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees, and guests.
- Be available to provide support as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the general manager or manager in charge.
- Work overtime when needed and assist the workload of others.
- Execute any other tasks required.
**QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED**
- Basic knowledge and passion for Japanese whiskey, cocktails, and sake considered an asset.
- 1-2 years’ bartending experience required.
- Strong communication skills with ability to establish and develop relationships with employees, partners, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to fluently communicate in both written and verbal English.
- Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
- Possesses basic math skills, can handle money, and operate a point-of-sale system.
- Pro Serve Certification required but can be obtained within 30 days of joining.
- Ability to maintain professionalism, control, and composure in difficult and stressful situations.
- Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
- Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
- Must be over 18 as alcohol service and open scheduling availability is a requirement.
