**Reports to**: Yard Supervisor

As a Senior Yard Associate, you will play a pivotal role in providing first-class customer service and acting as a leader within the yard. From assisting customers with loading and unloading vehicles to supporting new hire training, your role is essential in ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for both customers and team members. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will stay updated on the latest products, processes, and technologies to enhance the customer experience.

**Key Responsibilities**:Customer Service**:

- Greet customers promptly with a warm greeting and ensure first-class customer service at all times.

**Loading and Unloading**:

- Assist contractors/customers with loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring safety and efficiency.

**Training Support**:

- Support new hire training/shadowing within the yard, sharing knowledge and best practices.

**Leadership Role**:

- Assume responsibilities of Manager-on-Duty/Yard Supervisor in their absence and assist with tasks requiring advanced product knowledge.
- Guide Junior Yard Associates with duties and resolve any issues, demonstrating leadership and mentorship.
- Additional Duties as assigned by the Yard Supervisor

**Yard Maintenance**:

- Maintain a clean and presentable appearance of the yard, sheds, and special-order area.

**Product Handling**:

- Verify returned products, ensuring accuracy and completeness of product count and checking for damages.
- Support inventory control with accurate documentation and reporting of damaged products.

**Yard Layout and Organization**:

- Provide input into yard layout and reorganization of materials to improve access, handling techniques, and minimize damage.

**Financial Transactions**:

- Ensure all products leaving the yard have been invoiced and/or paid for.
- Verify correctness and update product codes as necessary.

**Assistance with Deliveries**:

- Accompany Delivery Truck Drivers and assist with deliveries as required.

**Stock Management**:

- Assist in putting away received products and monitor/replenish merchandise from overstock as needed.

**Safety and Compliance**:

- Maintain a safe working environment by reporting any concerns to management and complying with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Adhere to policies regarding loss prevention, breakage of goods, and health and safety.

**Health and Safety Responsibilities**:

- As a worker, you have key responsibilities in maintaining health and safety in the workplace, including:

- Using or wearing any required equipment, protective devices, or clothing.
- Not using or operating equipment in a way that endangers yourself or others.
- Reporting any missing or defective equipment or devices that may endanger anyone.
- Participating in health and safety programs established for the workplace.
- Reporting all workplace injuries to a manager or supervisor
- Participating in and executing return-to-work programs as needed.
