Security company requires security guard for a hotel near Yonge and Collete Station in Toronto. Permanent opportunity: - Part time, 24 hours, Saturday and Sunday, 0700h - 1900h - Location is in Downtown Toronto - Conveniently located on the subway line - Parking is **not** provided but is available on a shared basis with other guards for a low monthly fee - _**All applicants, please ensure you are able to reliably commute this location prior to applying**_ Job Requirements: - Ontario Security Guard License - Standard First Aid CPR-C + AED - Experience at a hotel and enforcing site protocol Preferred Qualifications: - 1 year experience in security and customer service - Smart Serve certification - Must be professional and presentable - Have excellent communication, customer service, and report writing skills **Duties**: - Unafraid to ensure all who enter the property have business there - Provide access control and screen individuals entering the site - Conduct hourly exterior and interior patrols - Enforce the "Trespass to Property Act" - Write and submit reports in a timely manner - Respond to calls from Manager on Duty and guests in a timely manner, with follow up occurring where necessary on the next shift - Work with site staff - Liaise with Toronto Police and other emergency services - De-escalate potential situations - Communicate with their team - Time is not to be spent in front of the site computer whatsoever - _**this is not a CCTV monitoring position**_ - Be flexible with work assignments - Interact with site guests in a positive a professional manner - Guards are expected to be able to stand for up to 2 hours at a time between breaks and patrols **Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent Pay: $17.20-$18.50 per hour Expected hours: 24 per week Additional pay: - Overtime pay Schedule: - 12 hour shift - Day shift - Every Weekend - Holidays Ability to commute/relocate: - Toronto, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) **Experience**: - hotel security guard: 1 year (required) Licence/Certification: - Ontario Security Guard (required) - Standard First Aid CPR - C + AED (required) - Smart Serve (required) Work Location: In person Expected start date: 2024-11-15
