**WHO WE ARE**

Located in downtown Oakville, **XII - Old Fashioned Restaurant** is a new and exciting concept taking Old Oakville by storm. Starring a simple à la carte menu of ‘Nothing but the Best’ steak cuts, fresh seafood and local favourites and paired with classic libations and a star-studded wine list.

While dining the entertainment on stage will make you feel like you were part of history. Each night, our stage will have live crooners, jazz and big band performing classics; it’s dinner and a show all in one; the cat’s meow

**THE JOB**

We are looking for a **HOST/HOSTESS **to join our team
Reporting to management, the **HOST/HOSTESS** is the first and last impression for our guests, and as such, this role should never be undervalued. The **HOST/HOSTESS** is a personal representation of the service and overall brand experience. Whether guests are waiting to be seated or inquiring about the restaurant, it is their job to ensure our guests feel welcomed, appreciated and are having a fun time.

**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Create a positive guest experience that begins with a friendly greeting and warm smile, curb side or in house
- Accurately take reservations that optimize each service period with POS
- Efficiently maintain and organize restaurant by managing guest flow, maximizing seating capacity and communicating all special requirements to both BOH and FOH
- Escort guests to their table, engage them in conversation and seat them accordingly
- Recognize and acknowledge repeat guests
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, table numbers and server sections
- Create authentic connections in every interaction. Elevate the guest experience through fun, engaging and meaningful conversations with guests.

**SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 2+ years’ experience in similar high-volume environment
- A positive, energetic outlook and a keen eye for detail
- Enjoys working with people, outgoing and has a passion for hospitality
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Ability to proactively anticipate guest needs and exceed expectations
- Excellent communication skills; verbal and written
- Able to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced environment
- Understands the dynamic of a team working towards the common goal
- Smart Serve Certified

**Our pay range is $18 - $20 per hour**

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week

**Experience**:

- Restaurant: 2 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Smart Serve (preferred)
