Together, we are building better bakeries. **The Bread and Butter of the Position**: If you take pride in making things squeaky clean and aren’t afraid to use a little elbow grease, our Custodian/Sanitation Team Member position may be right for you. As an important part of our day-to-day operations, our Custodian/Sanitation Team Members work behind the scenes to ensure our commercial bakery maintains the highest levels of cleanliness and sanitation. Reporting to our Sanitation Supervisor, our Custodian/Sanitation Team Members are responsible for: - Completing all sanitation shift duties as assigned - Disassembling, sanitizing, and reassembling food processing equipment as per Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) - Using appropriate cleaning methods, ensuring to clean all equipment and utensils in accordance with General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) - Cleaning the production floor and surrounding area to ensure that GMP standards are adhered to - Locking-out, dismantling, cleaning and sanitizing production equipment in accordance with the master sanitation schedule and sanitation standard operating procedures - Using approved cleaning chemicals, cleaning methods, personal protective equipment and cleaning equipment, as per GMP standards, training and safety requirements, at all times - Ensuring that all janitorial and sanitation tasks are completed as per the company schedule - Documenting all cleaning and sanitation activities when completed and reporting deficiencies to the Sanitation Supervisor. - Working in a safe and conscientious manner, as well as independently with mínimal supervision - Maintaining a Workplace Hazardous Information Systems (WHMIS) certification, adhering to all safety standards and good manufacturing practices - Auditing the Daily Sanitation Checklist and documenting all tasks, completed and incomplete - Working with the Maintenance team members to ensure the production facility is safe and properly maintained. - Meeting compliance standards as part of the regulatory team - Acting as part of the Quality Team, ensuring quality activities were performed and documented accordingly - Other duties as assigned **Shifts and availability**: - 8-hour shifts (8:00 pm start time) - This is a full-time permanent position. **The Ingredients You Bring to the Table**: - 1-year previous experience in a sanitation, custodian or janitorial role, preferably in a highly regulated environment; however, we will provide training - Knowledge and experience with sanitation programs, including the 7 steps of cleaning - Knowledge and experience with GMP standards and procedures - Comfortable with WHMIS, First Aid, Health and Safety legislation - Comfortable with Health Canada-regulated environments and protocols - Comfortable working at heights; fall arrest is considered an asset - HACCP knowledge is considered an asset - Strong verbal communication skills - The ability to work independently, as well as in a group - The ability to work on your feet for extended periods - The ability to work in a clean, organized manner - The ability to lift up to 50lbs - A commitment to upholding company policies, compliance and quality standards - A willingness to learn and grow **The Details You’ll Loave**: - $20.00 starting wage + $4.00/night premium (8:00 pm start time) - Guaranteed annual raises - Medical & Dental benefits including Life Insurance - Access to complimentary "staff bread" to take home when available - Opportunity for advancement - Annual Footwear Allowance - Paid Training - Uniforms Provided - Comprehensive Wellness and Leadership Development Program **Our Values and What We Expect From Our Breadhead Team Members**: - **Integrity**_ We keep it real — in the way we treat our customers, in the way we speak with one another, in the way we walk our safety talk, and in the way we make our products.
