Introba’s Policy and Planning team works with local governments, provinces, federal bodies, and portfolio holders of various kinds to help set and achieve low-carbon resilience goals in the built environment. We are excited to be adding to our **Vancouver team** We are seeking an ambitious **Climate Resilience Planner** to join our growing team.

The Climate Resilience Planner forms a valuable part of the team and is responsible for providing technical support, and client and project management resources essential for the successful completion of a wide range of climate action, urban sustainability and planning projects including but not limited to:

- Strategic climate change, resilience and sustainability planning.
- Climate risk and vulnerability assessment for buildings, portfolios and communities.
- Support for select decarbonization and sustainability planning projects.
- Policy development, land use planning, and master planning.
- Research and report writing, including generation of spreadsheet dashboards and graphics.
- Stakeholder workshop & public process design and implementation.

The Climate Resilience Planner will have a great opportunity to take on various dimensions of project delivery, team collaboration, and client interfacing via the delivery of multiple projects.

The Climate Resilience Planner will play a key role in the development and maintenance of meaningful, integrated, and collaborative relationships with clients. Our team’s primary business is client management, research, crafting well-written reports, and facilitating collaborative problem-solving efforts.

**Responsibilities**:
As a Climate Resilience Planner, your core responsibilities will include the following:

- Excellent understanding of policies, practices, research, and trends relevant to the sustainable built environment.
- High proficiency in the sources of, and strategies for, reducing energy and emissions at building, portfolio, campus, and/or broader scales.
- Holistic understanding of global sustainable issues, as well as current leaders and best practices in net-zero energy/emissions and sustainable community planning.
- Strong knowledge of low-carbon, resilient building practice, legislation, technologies, funding opportunities, etc.
- Good knowledge of low-carbon resilience land use and transportation issues and solutions considered an asset.
- Effective leadership skills and team management abilities.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, the following skills & competencies are an example of what will be required:

- University degree in Planning, Architecture, Environmental Studies, Resource Management, Engineering or Public Policy/Administration, or similar qualifications combined with relevant experience.
- Minimum 2 years of industry-specific experience.
- Superior interpersonal skills with clients and colleagues.
- Active listening, communication and mentoring skills.

Desirable skills include:

- Experienced in undertaking complex quantitative and qualitative analysis of climate change and sustainability issues, and preparing comprehensive research reports.
- Experience in financial analysis (e.g. cost-benefit analysis), graphic design and/or advanced computer analysis including GIS, data analytics, and interactive dashboard creation.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities.
- Project management experience.
- Eligibility for membership in a Provincial professional association (PIBC, AIBC, APEGBC) is desired but not required.
