Psychometrician - Measurements Specialist

The Measurement Specialist\\Psychometrician’s core responsibilities are planning for and delivering on tasks related to building and publishing examinations and updating, re-versioning and repurposing of items within the Exam Design & Measurement (EDM) department’s item bank for the assigned suite of courses. This role also serves as a liaison between IT and other business units to conduct big data research for a variety of reporting and psychometric needs for high-stakes credentialing examinations.
**What you will achieve in this role**:
- Leads the creation of examination forms for the assigned suite of examinations based on organizational processes and industry best practices to ensure a high level of integrity, accuracy and quality assurance to result in defensible exam scores and decisions.
- Proactively monitors and maintains the examination item bank and its content by regularly monitoring item inventory and performance, based on statistical analysis, and advising of new content required for maintenance and/or to address challenges.
- Perform research to support decisions on the development of fair, valid and reliable examinations for an ISO certified organization with practical advisory to address challenges.
- Coordinates with the Director, Credentials Development, to develop software tools, reports and processes that can be operationalized and support the continuous improvement and defensibility of exams.
- Collaborates on original research and development projects with colleagues within and across departments.to support the high-stakes credentialing program.
- Supports psychometric analysis and consultation to improve operational testing activities.
- Writes documentation and maintains sound records in current time, and in archive to meet procedural and security standards.
- Prior experience in a test development, education or educational measurement environment will be an asset.
- Solid knowledge of and experience with a statistical and programming packages.
- Understanding of database structure for accessing complex data with programming experience in Structured Query Language (SQL), XML and relational databases
- Demonstrated abilities in working with Excel, R, SPSS, and other programming languages.
- Able to work toward and meet deadlines. Able to adapt easily in a fast-paced, changing environment.
