Review energy studies and assess the suitability of participants into the C&EM Commercial and Industrial energy conservation programs; their associated energy savings and incentive levels
Conduct building energy modelling and assessments or review third party studies
Review and validate measurement and verification studies
Review current and emerging building codes and appliance regulations
Perform post-installation site inspections as required ( i.e.. visit sites and analyze facilities, HVAC equipment installations as per energy upgrade)
Participate in project design to improve program participation and energy efficiency levels In year 1, you will:
Review various energy studies and assess the suitability of participants into the C&EM Commercial and Industrial energy conservation programs and their associated energy savings
Perform building energy modelling for new and retrofit construction projects
Understand how buildings (homes and commercial buildings) can meet the BC Energy Step Code requirements
Have a strong understanding of the company’s energy efficiency programs In year 2, you will:
Have advanced knowledge of building codes, appliance regulations and standards and gas technologies
Initiate and lead industry initiatives to encourage the efficient use of natural gas
Participate in C&EM program evaluations and program improvement initiativesPrepare and present C&EM plans and reports to regulatory authorities and program partners
Make recommendations for market or technical research projects What it takes:
Knowledge of current methodologies and design practices in building architecture, engineering, and building construction
Knowledge of building envelope design principles and practices.
Degree in engineering, applied sciences or building science or equivalent
Advanced current knowledge of residential, commercial and industrial natural gas equipment operating principles, including fuel combustion equipment and energy distribution
Current knowledge of BC building code, BC Energy Step Code and appliance regulations would be an asset
Strong communication and presentation skills
Ability to condense complex technical analysis and present to a non-technical audience What you need to know:
