**Scope/ Purpose of the Position**:
The Manager, Talent and Succession Planning applies their in-depth knowledge to implement new talent planning initiatives across HR branch teams within management. Adjusting to our corporate business needs, this individual will be developing the strategy, providing directional guidance, and designing initiatives that support talent planning and succession programs. The manager will also lead and coordinate talent efforts across all branches to influence a new corporate talent culture. They will provide managers with the information, tools, and support to ensure talent initiatives are well received and implemented within the business units. They will also research, manage, and implement a succession program that is critical to Corporate Talent's strategy to position Air Canada among the top 10 global airlines in all things related to talent planning and succession. Provide information on a corporate level to senior management.
**Key Functions & Accountabilities**:
- Strategize and research using the latest trends in Talent Management and Succession Planning.
- Designs and Implements programs, drawing from industry expertise to provide directional guidance into new leadership development programs.
- Develop and manage new talent and leadership initiatives for all management levels, including building talent profiles, developing leadership events, networking, and succession planning initiatives.
- Provide support to HR leaders and their branches to establish talent-related initiatives.
- Work with HRIT systems team to develop talent services for the organization.
- Manage vendor relationships for talent tools (ex: 360 reviews, professional coaches, etc)
- Manage information coming from talent initiatives and performance reviews (trending, red flags)
- Work with Manager Employee Development to ensure alignment with Performance Management initiatives.
- Establish and implement Air Canada's sourcing strategy and employment brand to ensure a cost-effective process that meets business requirements.
- Develop Talent Management policies and processes that yield solid returns in terms of identifying and developing key talent.
- Reduce knowledge gaps in management to increase organizational efficiency
- Evaluate and analyze data, metrics, and ROIs of planning and succession initiatives
**Qualifications**
- University degree - preferably in Human Resources / Organizational Development/ Psychology.
- 7 - 10 years' experience in the Human Resource field.
- Experience in developing and implementing coaching, mentoring and leadership development programs.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word Teams, Planner) and PeopleSoft.
- Ability to influence and work well in teams, collaborating with other HR professionals.
Strong planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of airline culture is an asset.
- Bilingual (French & English).
- Travel as required.
