NOTE**:YOU MUST** have completed the _Food Service Worker program _or be enrolled to qualify for this position.

Trinity Village Studios is a 61 bed retirement home for independent seniors, located in Kitchener, Ontario.

The Dietary Aide will be responsible for the excellent service of high quality, safe, nutritious food to our Retirement Home Residents. The Dietary Aide must adhere to the mission, vision, and values of Trinity Village, as well as adopt and put into action the 10 Principles of the Eden Alternative Philosophy of Care.

This is a permanent, part-time position working at minimum 20 hours per week.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES**:

- Assist with food preparation of assigned food items for residents e.g. portioning of designated food items (beverages, desserts, cereal), toast, preparation of single portion food items (soup, poached egg, convenience item re-thermalization), etc.
- Serve food to residents according to Food Service policies and procedures. This may include service of food for resident special events, families, or staff events.
- Assist the Cooks as needed.
- Use good food handling techniques according to the Sanitation Code (Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association) and the Food Premises Regulation Act.
- Assists with washing dishes, cleaning the kitchen area, including floors, garbage disposal, etc.
- Use safe work techniques according to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Participate in the facility Quality Improvement Program

Qualifications:

- Ability to read, write and understand English.
- Willingness to function as a member of the Food Service Team.
- Successful completion of the Safe Food Handling Program offered by the Public Health Department.
- Successful completion of an approved Food Service Worker Program.
- Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
