**What can I expect as a Financial Services Officer?**
- Processes full cycle semi-monthly payroll (Union and Excluded), entering payroll information, calculating wages and making payroll payments while maintaining confidential employee information;
- Updates Group Benefits plan and maintains pension plans including plan eligibility, enrolment, terminations, remittances;
- Generates semi-monthly and monthly payroll reporting, prepares Receiver General remittances within Canada Revenue Agency deadlines and provides audit reports as required;
- Processes accounts payable, including invoice entries, verifying invoices/purchase orders, checking for proper approvals and compliance with corporate policies/procedures;
- Issues accurate and timely payments to vendors/employees.

**What education and experience will you need to be successful?**
- Education or training equivalent to the first level of a post-secondary accounting program;
- National Payroll Institute’s Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation or current enrolment in the program;
- Experience and knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, payroll accounting, pension and benefits administration;
- One to two years’ recent related experience in a hands-on manual payroll processing environment that includes multiple collective agreements, group benefits and pension administration preferred;
- Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and possess exceptional writing skills.

**The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $62,500 per annum. **This position is excluded from Union membership.
