The function of the Field Technician is to work closely with their team to use their combined technical expertise and individual judgments to provide customer service, installation and operation of complex electromechanical equipment. This person will maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through the use of data-driven tools, proactive attention to customer requirements and positive customer interactions. As a Field Technician, you will represent VIST as the on-site expert.

**As a Field Technician, you will: (duties/responsibilities)**

❖ Show flexibility to work long hours and travel, as necessary, in support of business needs

❖ Provide unparalleled customer service and build relationships with our clients that will continue throughout our operations.

❖ Promote a healthy and friendly working environment

❖ Maintain and develop technical competence through formal training programs, on-site training, and on-the-job training

❖ Evaluate and diagnose mechanical, hardware, software, and systems failures using established procedures, and determine the most effective repair/resolution to minimise production downtime

❖ Manage parts inventory, coordinates shipment of parts for repair and replenishment, and maintain the inventory of tools and test equipment. Record maintenance activities using approved methods and procedures

❖ Perform administrative duties including record keeping, reporting, and inventory management in an accurate and timely manner

❖ Performs all activities in a safe manner and adheres to company policies and procedures relating to safety

❖ Perform other duties as assigned.

Someone who has experience in a technician role (1 year minimum experience required).

Someone who is flexible and versatile, ambitious and focused.

Someone with talent in equipment and problem solving, and demonstrates ease in a team atmosphere.

Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical equipment is a plus.

Capabilities should include electro-mechanical troubleshooting ability, understanding of electronic principles, and a working knowledge of tools and industrial equipment.

Must possess effective oral and written communication skills.

Utilise laptop/tablet for administrative and diagnostic tasks.

Ability to be responsible for Company Fleet vehicles.

Personal vehicle use may be required, if business needs dictate.

Bilingual (English/French) Must.

Shift work may be required.

**Required education and experience**

❖ High school diploma/GED required.

❖ Associate Degree or Trade or technical school certificate/diploma preferred.

❖ Minimum four (4) years of work experience. One of those years in a field service environment.

❖ Hands-on experience with technical equipment is a must.

❖ Previous experience dealing with customers is a must.

❖ Attention to detail.

❖ Must be legally autherized to work in Canada.
