**Personal Care & Support Person**

**About Company**:
AdaptABILITY Support Services provides personalized Programs, Supports and Services for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

**Position**:
Independent Contractor - up to 30 hours per week

Weekday Afternoons, Evenings, Occasional Weekends - Scheduled times: 2:00p to 9:30p

**Education / Qualification**:
PSW (Personal Support Worker), DSW (Developmental Support Worker)

**Responsibilities**

Provide physical, emotional, social, and personal care and support for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities.

**Requirements**:

- Positive attitude
- Willing to learn new things
- Willingness to follow specific instructions
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs (with assistance)
- Communicate with supervisor, clients, family/caretakers in an age appropriate, positive, compassionate language

**Be willing and able to provide the following care**:
Hygiene
- Hand Hygiene
- Toileting / Peri-care

Mobility Aid Use
- Power wheelchairs

Nutrition
- Feeding - Solid and liquid intake

Physical
- Physical therapy / Occupational therapy according to instructions
- Lifting
- Transferring
- Positioning

Communication
- Has experience working with AAC (Augmentative Alternative Communication Devices) is an asset
- Knowledge of ASL (American Sign Language)

**Training Provided by Company.**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 - 25 per week
