Payroll and Accounting Coordinator

**Job Summary**:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll and Accounting Coordinator to join our team. This position will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for our companies located in both the USA and Canada. As well, this individual will assist with various accounting related duties.
**Responsibilities**:
- Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for employees in the USA and Canada
- Verify timekeeping records and resolve any discrepancies and anomalies
- Submit government remittances and period reports to the IRS and CRA
- Ensure all government payroll regulations are adhered to
- Create and maintain human resource and payroll records
- Prepare and distribute payroll checks/EFTs
- Help with month-end close duties
- Provide support for our accounts receivable, accounts payable and general accounting processes
**Skills and Qualifications**:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in similar payroll and general accounting roles
- Proficiency in Sage 50, MS Dynamics, FieldCap, Excel and other Microsoft products
- High data entry proficiency and accuracy
- Knowledge of accounts receivable and payable processes
- Solid understanding of payroll tax calculations, labour laws and taxable benefits
- Ability to prepare month-end reconciliations and journal entries
- Payroll certification or working towards an accounting designation is desirable
This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and accuracy are highly valued.
Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
