Jr Dog Handler

We are looking for an experienced loving dog handler for our busy, positive reinforcement based Doggy Daycare located in Richmond. We were voted #1 Best of Richmond in 2021 and are looking for 1-2 dynamic, team orientated people to join our family.
- Must be comfortable working in a team environment, we are a close knit team that treats each other like family.
- Must have reliable transportation
- Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and be on their feet most of the day
- Is ready to work in all outdoor elements
- Is prepared to be on their feet for 8-10 hours/ day
- Has experience working with dogs (preferred), is comfortable working with groups of dogs of all sizes and is able to control groups of dogs using positive reinforcement techniques (in house training provided).
- Availability for weekend and overnight shifts is an asset
- Customer service experience is an asset

What you'll be doing in a day:

- Supervising play and using positive reinforcement techniques
- Interacting with our amazing clients - handing off dogs to their parents, taking payments, and handling client calls for drop offs/pick ups.
- Inside duties include cleaning, feeding daycare and boarding dogs, doing laundry
- This position does require spending most of the day outside in all weather conditions and actively engaging with the dogs, however there is a heated shelter for both dogs and humans outside as well as fans for the summer.
- 40 hours a week is available.
