The Bone & Biscuit Burlington North is hiring We are looking for a motivated individual to join our family owned and operated business as a full time Pet Specialist.

**WHO YOU ARE**

As a Pet Specialist, you have passion for animals and a belief in health through nutrition. You are eager to educate pet parents (and yourself) on achieving and maintaining a healthy balanced diet and finding the right products to support each pet’s needs.

You enjoy interacting with people. In addition, you have superior critical thinking skills and an above average ability to problem solve through challenging customer interactions to ensure a consistent and positive experience for all Bone & Biscuit visitors.

You are organized and observant. As you will play a role in product merchandising, you will take pride in store presentation to ensure a clean and inviting shopping experience. The devil is in the details, and this is important to you.

**ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients in a retail environment and build customer loyaltyEngage with clients to answer questions, educate, and provide effective solutions for their pets and pet
- related concerns.
- Participate in day-to-day store operations including but not limited to: fulfillment of in-store and online orders, inventory management (receiving, counts, expiry review, etc.), store opening and closing procedures, stocking, merchandising and cleaning
- Expand personal knowledge of pet nutrition and products and services offered

**QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS**
- 2+ years previous customer service, sales and/or retail experience
- Outgoing and friendly personality with exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Comfortable interacting with all breeds and sizes of dogs and cats
- A passion for pets and enthusiasm for learning and growth in the pet industry
- Basic knowledge of Point of Sale systems and Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to lift up to 40lbs
- Availability to work 30-40 hours per week, including evenings and weekends

**PREFERRED SKILLS**
- Previous pet industry experience will be prioritized
- Knowledge of nutrition / pet nutrition an asset

**ADDITIONAL NOTES**

We provide our visitors with exceptional service through thorough and informed answers and solutions to their pet-related questions and concerns, so a passion for pet nutrition and the well-being of dogs and cats is a must. The successful applicant will have a drive to further their own knowledge to ensure every client and their pet receives the best possible service. Training will be provided, so while direct experience and knowledge are not required in all areas, a strong willingness to learn is.

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour
