Cornerstone Family Violence Prevention Centre (Cornerstone) has an exciting opportunity in which you get to work within the Community Services team to ensure a strong, innovative support system is in place for women and children impacted by gender-based violence in Northumberland County.

**What can I expect to do in this role?**
- Provide safety assessment and risk management strategies with each client, review and adapt existing safety plans as necessary
- Explain court process to individuals, provide debriefing to clients after court
- Follow the Ministry PAR Program Standards, contact client (victim) at prescribed intervals, liaise with Program partners as directed
- Attend lawyer’s appointments and court hearings when available, provide service to individuals at various satellite offices throughout the county

**What do I need for this role?**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma
- Foundational legal knowledge to navigate and understand legal aspects within the context of family court and criminal court
- Comprehensive understanding of issues related to family violence, including a strong understanding of the links between violence, trauma, addictions and mental health, and homelessness
- Motivational Interviewing
- The Comprehensive Continuous Integrated Systems of Care model of service provision
- Harm Reduction
- Family and Intimate Partner Violence within a gendered lens,
- Trauma informed, and
- Housing First in relation to Violence Against Women
- The ability to make sound decisions in a fast paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate and work within a team setting
- Strong crisis intervention skills
- A solid understanding of the importance of boundaries
