**Overview**

**This position is at a home in rural Camrose County. Drivers license and vehicle are required.**
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers to provide essential support and assistance to a palliative individual in need of nighttime care. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for the client in their last days. Ensuring their comfort and safety at home This position requires a nurturing attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to perform physical tasks. Experience with dementia and end of life care is essential.

**Duties**
- To supervise and assist a palliative client with dementia in his home overnight for respite for his main caregiver
- Assist clients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of clients.
- Help with mobility assistance, including transferring clients from beds to wheelchairs or other locations.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties such as laundry and cleaning.
- Document care provided and report any changes in client’s health or behavior to appropriate personnel.
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional health.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in caregiving, assisted living, or senior care is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when assisting clients with mobility needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others maintain their independence and dignity.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 weeks

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

- Hospice care: 1 year (preferred)
- Dementia care: 1 year (required)
