Content Writer

NGEN was recently recognized by Canadian Business and Macleans as one of Canada’s fastest growing companies and as a result, we are looking for a Content Writer to support our day-to-day content activities at NGEN.

As the Content Writer, you will contribute to NGEN success by establishing and developing exceptional content concepts that integrate with the overarching concepts for various client campaigns and projects across a variety of channels (print, web, mobile, interactive, retail & social). In this role, you will be the voice behind NGEN and our clients brands and will be responsible for aligning content goals to media tactics while providing channel specific creative execution strategies

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Researching industry-related topics and writing clear copy to promote our clients' products and services with a consistent tone.
- Identify content gaps and recommend new topics and types of content.
- Create content ideas and turn them into dynamic, inspirational words that get our customers excited so that it helps create awareness and builds our clients' business
- Carry your ideas all the way from conception to completion, while collaborating with the Account and Creative design team to translate high-level concepts into finished creative
- Work to the creative brief and show understanding and relevance to the target market
- Work with account & operation teams to understand upcoming initiatives, prioritization & changes
- Edit/proofread copy
- Plan and develop social media plans including the development of social calendars
- Develop a consistent voice and maintain across channels aligned with branding and target audience for posts and community engagement for NGEN and clients
- Collaborate with internal team and clients to drive content development, strategy through execution, while providing social insights to influence the work
- Performs research, listening and performance analysis to inform strategies
- Generate insight into community performance and provide recommendations for improvement across all channels
- Creates new stories and moments for NGEN and Clients
- Engage, spark discussions, delight customers across social channels for NGEN & clients
- Monitor conversations across social media and address important mentions in real-time through engagement
- Discover trending topics, community needs and interests of target audience
- Create social media reports around volume, sentiment etc.
- Provides social media coaching, direction and leadership support to team members

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**
- A post-secondary degree in Journalism, English or related field
- Proficiency in conceptualizing ideas in words but also in a graphic sense
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, Semrush
- Expert knowledge of social media platforms including social listening and analytics
- Well versed in keyword tracking & search engine tools
- Able to produce top-quality engagement across channels helping to develop and define brand voice guidelines across multiple brands/categories with demonstrated ability to execute channel-specific nuances, leveraging the culture and capabilities of each
- Strong Awareness of emerging trends and behaviours across social.
- Able to provide insights that influence future strategy, creative and media executions
- Strong reporting skills; can clearly summarize data into social media reports

**Salary**: $45,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
