Waterworks Irrigation is one of the leading irrigation companies on Vancouver Island, and we’re growing rapidly. Right now, our number one barrier to growth is a lack of skilled irrigation technicians on the island.

We’re looking to hire competent people (with no experience necessary) who show initiative to rise up the ranks, build a career, and lead job sites in the near future. Our current general manager and site manager both started as general labourers with no previous irrigation experience and are now our top two employees.

**Job Overview**:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Irrigation General Labourer to join our team at Waterworks Irrigation and Landscaping Inc. As an Irrigation General Labourer, you will support the installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems to ensure efficient water management for our clients. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic and an interest in outdoor work and landscaping.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Installation**: Assist in the setup and installation of irrigation systems, including laying pipes, fitting valves, and positioning sprinklers.
**- Maintenance**: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of irrigation systems to ensure proper functionality. Address issues such as leaks, clogs, and damaged components.
**- Repairs**:Help replace or repair malfunctioning parts as needed.
**- Equipment Handling**:Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in irrigation work. Ensure all equipment is in good working condition and report any malfunctions.
**- Site Preparation**:Prepare and clean work sites by removing debris, digging trenches, and ensuring the area is ready for irrigation work.
**- Safety Compliance**:Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Wear appropriate protective gear and report any hazards.
**- Team Collaboration**: Work effectively with other team members and supervisors to complete tasks efficiently. Communicate clearly and follow instructions.
**- Documentation**:Assist in maintaining accurate records of work performed, including installation details, maintenance tasks, and repair activities.

**Qualifications**:

- Experience**:Previous experience in landscaping, irrigation, or general labor is a plus but not required. We provide on-the-job training.
**- Physical Stamina**:Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
**- Skills**: Basic knowledge of irrigation systems and equipment is helpful but not necessary.
**- Communication**: Good verbal communication skills and the ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
**- Reliability**:Strong work ethic, punctuality, and a positive attitude are essential.
**- License**:A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.

Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
