**Job Summary**

The Unit Clerk is a member of the team who works under the direct supervision of the Manager/Team Leader or delegate in performing clerical, receptionist and communication duties on the unit.

**Qualifications**
- Minimum grade 12
- Previous hospital or medical experience in a clerical role
- Medical terminology
- Excellent keyboarding skills 40 WPM
- Demonstrates organizational skills
- Demonstrates strong customer service and patient centered skills
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and medical staff
- Must be able to function competently in emergency situations
- Demonstrates ability to multi task
- Computer expertise, Microsoft Word and HBOC preferred
- Safety Awareness
- Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and verbal
- Demonstrated problem assessment skills
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and teamwork
- Demonstrated individual leadership skills
