Business Development Specialist

**Position Summary**
The Business Development Specialist is responsible for building, strengthening and growing customer relationships, with a focus on revenue growth and service delivery enhancement. Works collaboratively with various departments, including Charters, Commercial, Cargo, Marketing, Flight Operations and Finance and acts as the primary point of contact with assigned key customers. Identifies new market segments by making data driven recommendations.

**Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Develop and nurture strategic relationships and partnerships with key clients, including First Nation community leaders and organizations
- Key Account Sectors include, but are not limited to:
- o Government agencies
- o First Nation leadership and social program administrators
- o Nutrition North vendors and partners
- o Public sector agencies
- o Corporate charter, passenger, and cargo customers
- Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify business opportunities across business segments
- Meet quarterly with key account customers to review operational performance and growth opportunities
- Negotiate and renew customer contract agreements and look for ways to promote expansion of existing business
- Participate in comprehensive RFP responses including proposal writing and developing detailed pricing tables
- Work collaboratively to identify new and innovative services and opportunities that will disrupt competitors and increase revenue and market share
- Identify and develop strategic third-party partnerships and other collaborative business relationships to execute short and long-term growth objectives
- Monitor and analyze competitive environment, including destinations, rates and customers
- Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
- Perform additional duties as assigned
**Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications**
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
- Diploma or post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing or Economics, a related field or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience in a customer centric sales, partnerships or business development role
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)
- Knowledge of budgeting and financial analysis processes
- Aviation experience is considered an asset
- Experience in Business Intelligence is considered an asset
- Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
**Working Conditions**
- Physically able to perform all listed job duties
- Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
- Work performed primarily in an office environment
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and telephone
- Work performed in multiple environments; contact with staff and the general public
- Ability to attend offsite work events as required (e.g. meet with clients and partners, and attend industry events)
