- **POSITION PURPOSE**

Responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and operational management of ambulatory clinics, rehabilitation programs, and related services, including Medical Device Reprocessing (MDRD). This role ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and patient-centered care across all outpatient settings while maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. The Manager provides strategic direction, supports interdisciplinary collaboration, and oversees the integration of reprocessing services to ensure the availability of high-quality, sterile medical equipment for all clinical areas.
- **ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Provides operational leadership and strategic oversight for all ambulatory care clinics and rehabilitation services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care delivery.
- Oversees the Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD), ensuring compliance with infection prevention and control standards, accreditation requirements, and best practices in sterilization and equipment handling.
- Leads and supports the development, implementation, and evaluation of outpatient programs and services to meet the evolving needs of patients and the organization.
- Collaborates with physicians, nursing, allied health professionals, and administrative staff to coordinate service delivery, optimize patient flow, and improve access to care.
- Manages human resources activities including staffing, recruitment, orientation, performance management, attendance support, and professional development in accordance with hospital policies and collective agreements.
- Supports quality improvement, risk management, and patient safety initiatives across all outpatient and reprocessing areas.
- Analyzes clinical and operational data (e.g., wait times, volumes, utilization, quality indicators) to inform decision-making and drive performance improvements.
- Ensures policies and procedures are current, evidence-based, and aligned with legislative, regulatory, and accreditation standards.
- Fosters a positive work culture that promotes collaboration, respect, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Acts as a liaison with external partners and stakeholders to support service delivery, referrals, and community integration of care.
- Participates in the development of the departmental budget, monitors expenses, and identifies cost-saving opportunities.
- Supports emergency preparedness and continuity planning as applicable to the clinics.
- Performs Administration on Call duties on a rotational basis, serving as the designated administrative representative after regular business hours, on weekends, and during statutory holidays. Responds to urgent operational issues, supports teams in critical decision-making, and ensures appropriate escalation and communication with senior leadership as required.
- Participates in committees as assigned.

**3. KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:

- Regulated Health Professional in good standing with a relevant Ontario regulatory college (e.g., College of Nurses of Ontario, College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario, College of Physiotherapists of Ontario, etc.).
- Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field or equivalent
- Master’s degree in Health Administration, Nursing, or a related discipline considered an asset.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting, including at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role, preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of ambulatory care operations, outpatient clinic workflows, and interdisciplinary models of care.
- Demonstrated understanding of Medical Device Reprocessing Department (MDRD) standards, practices, and regulatory requirements (e.g., CSA standards, PIDAC best practices).
