Pinchin’s Dartmouth office is currently recruiting for an Intermediate Geotechnical Project Manager to support our Geotechnical Engineering Group in in the Atlantic Region.

The Geotechnical Engineering Group at Pinchin is an emerging practice and has been added to our service offerings to provide our current and potential clientele with the highest quality of diversified geoscience engineering to meet today’s demanding market. **A Day in the life of a Geotechnical Project Manager at Pinchin**:

- Perform Geotechnical engineering evaluations (e.g. Soil and bedrock engineering design, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, excavation, dewatering and shoring.)
- Scheduling assessments and meetings with clients/contractors
- Assigning work to field staff as appropriate depending on workloads and in conjunction with the other Senior Managers
- Preparing contract documents, proposals, and reports
- Providing clients with advice on appropriate regulations and guidelines
- Meet with clients to determine project requirements
- Provide training and mentoring to junior staff and technicians as needed
- Business development and marketing to new and existing clients

**What you bring to the Pinchin team**:

- University degree in Geotechnical, Civil or Geological Engineering or related degree and experience
- 5 to 10 years’ experience in a geotechnical engineering role
- A Professional Engineering Designation in the Province of Nova Scotia and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer in the remaining Atlantic Provinces
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook), as well as geotechnical engineering software (slope stability, seepage, finite element programs, etc.)
- Able to work closely with our project teams across the company where geotechnical support may be of assistance, such as Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation and Building Sciences
- Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction is considered an asset
- The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from staff, clients and managers
- Excellent technical writing skills for preparing geotechnical engineering reports and letters for clientele
- Valid driver’s license insurance & personal vehicle is required (work-related travel expenses will be compensated)
