**Who We Are**:
Reena is a non-profit organization that has provided community services for people with developmental disabilities while promoting dignity, individuality, independence, personal growth and community inclusion within a framework of Jewish culture and values since 1973. Reena advocates for people, and supports individuals to develop spiritually, feel a connection and sense of belonging to their roots, culture and community, but also encourages the expression of everyone’s culture and religious roots, regardless of background and denomination.
The Volunteer Coordinator is responsible to recruit, onboard and place volunteers across Reena locations, departments and programs.
**Responsibilities**:
1) Main Responsibilities
- Oversee the full cycle of volunteer services, including development, recruitment, training, placement and evaluation of volunteers
- Collaborate and network with departments within the agency, developing, organizing and increasing volunteer and opportunities; building relationships and engagement with staff
- Ensure volunteers are placed in appropriate locations to have a positive experience and enhance the support provided to the individuals and the organization as a whole
- Address issues with volunteer; support and utilizes a system for individual volunteer evaluation
- Continuously build on the goals and objectives of the volunteer program
- Help build, maintain, and foster relationships with community-based institutions and other agencies.
2) Administrative Responsibilities:
- Maintain ongoing statistical information, data base and records, including Ministry requirements
- Maintain and update volunteer and policies and procedure with the department supervisor
- Work with Reena Learning and Development Department to help update relevant trainings
- Work with the departments Administrative Assistance to update volunteer manuals and the yearly calendar
3) Professional Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate professional conduct and accountability at all times which reflects positively on the agency
- Maintain confidentiality of individuals, staff and agency information at all times
- Organize and plans own areas of responsibilities; independently setting work and task priorities
- Conducts oneself in accordance with all of Reena’s policies and procedures
- Works with Reena Judaic frame work
- Reports directly to the program Supervisor
**Experience and Formal Education**:
- 1-3 years experience working in a coordinator position an asset
- College diploma or University degree in Social Service or related field
- Strong Leadership skills/experience
- Technological proficiency - Office Suite, data recording systems, internet research
- Budgeting and finance experience an asset
**Qualifications**:
- Understanding and experience in developmental services strongly preferred
- Demonstrates excellent problem solving and organizational skills, flexibility, and service orientation
- Ability to work collaboratively and network with diverse stakeholders including volunteers, direct support staff, supervisors, managers
- Leadership ability to motivate and lead volunteers and deal with issues
- Demonstrates ability to manage multiple priority tasks, detail oriented, self-motivated
- Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills
