Total Instant Lawns has provided premium landscaping services to the Ottawa area since 2010. We are seeking a reliable, honest, and hardworking junior estimator to join our team. Total Instant Lawns is a growing company with lots of opportunities to grow with us.

As a junior estimator, you will be responsible for helping price commercial jobs and assist our estimators.

Responsibilities include:

- Conducting comprehensive cost estimations for plan and spec projects.
- Ensuring the accuracy and completeness of tender submissions.
- Analyzing proposal specifications, drawings, and addendums to prepare pricing.
- Generating estimates through meticulous take-offs of project scope.
- Compiling all costs for tender submissions, including labor, equipment, materials, rentals, and subcontracts.
- Evaluating design options and recommending optimal solutions based on cost, engineering quality, and material availability.
- Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors.
- Securing quality projects at reasonable margins through negotiation.
- Undertaking special projects as requested and fostering repeat business with clients, consultants, and engineers.
- Maintaining organized files of working documents to support estimate figures.
- Coordinating subcontractor quotations upon successful bid and assisting with the close-out process.
- Managing databases of labor rates, material pricing, and project costs.
- Assisting with prequalification submissions, requests for quotations, and requests for information as needed.

Qualifications:

- Experience in estimating.
- Willingness to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Experience in landscaping estimating is an asset.
- Knowledge of landscaping materials, techniques, and industry standards is an asset.

This is a full time contract position.

The position is Monday - Friday.

Total Instant Lawns offers competitive compensation based on qualifications and experience. Performance bonuses are given to reward exceptional work.
