Press Operator

SUMMARY

We are looking to hire a Second Press Machine Operator, who will be responsible for assisting the First Press Operator in the safe and efficient operation of the press machine. The Press Machine Operator will also provide direction and assistance to the press crew, resolve issues with machinery and processes, and manufacture web print products using the highest standards of quality and efficiency.

SHIFT SCHEDULE: 12-hour, rotating shifts;
- Monday to Wednesday from 6 am - 6 pm- Sunday to Tuesday from 6 pm - 6 am- Thursday to Sunday from 6 am - 6 pm- Wednesday to Friday from 6 pm - 6 am

AS A SECOND PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR, YOU WILL MAKE YOUR IMPACT BY:

- Reviewing job dockets to ensure that all instructions are met; prior to operating the press machine- Performing all required set-ups to ensure that all jobs are output with the highest level of quality and efficiency - WE STRIVE FOR EXCELLENCE IN EVERYTHING WE DO- Liaising with Print Managers and Supervisors for trouble shooting requirements, while always remaining cognizant of the cutting and finishing requirements to follow the print process- Handling any required paperwork such as quality checks and assurance tests as required- Ensuring that finished products are transferred efficiently and timely to the next station in the process for handling- Handling regular preventative maintenance requirements for the press machine and associated equipment- Following all safety and quality standards required - WE BELIEVE IN TEAM SAFETY AND WELL BEING

YOU CAN EXCEL AS A SECOND PRESS MACHINE OPERATOR IF YOU HAVE:
- A completion of secondary school education or equivalent- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a multi-colour web press operator in a commercial print environment- Experience with Heat-set Web Offset ancillary equipment- Proficient computer skills; an asset but not required- Strong English communication skills (oral & written)- A high level of attention to detail and the ability to work as a team- Good problem solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- The ability to lift and move heavy items as needed
