What You Will Get To Do
Reporting to the Principal Planner, Zoning and Regulation, the Zoning Officer is responsible for:
- Coordinate the pre-permit zoning review process for Builders in a Plan of Subdivision, reviewing siting plans and model drawings;- Respond to requests for comments on Planning Applications from the Building division;-
- Other related duties as may assigned.

What You Bring To Our Team
As the successful applicant, you must possess:
- Four (4) year post-secondary degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a related field;- Two (2) to three (3) years’ experience in zoning or a related field;- Full membership or eligible for full membership with the Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) and Ontario Professional Planners Institute (O.P.P.I);- Advanced user of Microsoft Office, AMANDA, and Geocortex;- Working knowledge of Zoning By-laws, the Planning Act, Provincial Planning Policy, Growth Plan, the Municipal Act and relevant Provincial Planning Policies/legislation; and,- Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
