**Job Description**:
AECOM is seeking a Electrical Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to be based in Markham, ON. Employee will initially be assigned to a site representation role in the GTA area. We’re one global team - over 50,000 strong - driven by a common purpose to deliver a better world.Job Summary:The employee will act as a Project Engineer in Training on various design and study projects including concept design, detailed design, construction documents and contract administration.Major Responsibilities:Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment under the direction of an experienced electrical engineerApplies industry standard practices and techniques in producing engineered solutions to specific project electrical issuesGathers and correlates basic electrical engineering data associated with assigned projects using established and well-defined proceduresExercises judgment limited to developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives. Reviews the proposed solutions with the responsible engineer and agrees on a path forwardAssist the team in achieving engineering deliverables including drawings, specifications, analysis and reports, while complying with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.Ensure accuracy, completeness and quality of technical information and project documentation in accordance with QA/QC programs;Demonstrate ability to manage, organize and participate in multiple work assignments, including production support of contract documents as requiredPerform construction contract administration tasks such as site reviews, site visit reports, presentations, and shop drawings review.Supervisor will screen assignment for unusual or difficult problems and select techniques and procedures to be applied on non-routine workEmployee will receive supervision on new aspects of assignments. Work closely with other discipline Engineers, Designers and Project Managers as a key team player within an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery teamPerform construction contract administration tasks such as site reviews, site visit reports, presentations
**Qualifications**:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical engineering PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Registered EITRelevant experience doing engineering and design work for various electrical systems (lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, communications systems) on various types of buildings projects.Understanding of Electrical power systems. Understanding of electrical system load and short circuit analysis.Understanding of Lighting and lighting control systems, including familiarity with Lighting calculationsInteract and communicate effectively with other team members and disciplinesCapable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard office softwareSome knowledge of engineering design preferred.Experience on buildings projects an asset.Working knowledge of REVIT and A
