JOB SUMMARY
- Reports to the Director of Finance and Facilities; Performs a variety of accounting, budget and reporting functions related to the Hamilton Public LibraryMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS**:
Educational Requirements:
**Advanced knowledge of accounting, budget and related financial procedures normally acquired through the completion of a University Degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Economics or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience**:
**Experience**:
Minimum of three (3) years progressive accounting experience, sufficient to acquire competency in analysis and understanding of financial statements and reports

Detailed and advanced knowledge of and experience with Excel, sufficient to develop and analyze complex financial reports using Excel functionality such as formulas and linking is an essential requirement

Must have an understanding of and be able to interpret financial statements. Experience in a unionized municipal environment would be an asset.

**Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in written form with varying audiences including management, peers, staff, other levels of government and the public.**:
**Must be detail oriented and have developed analytical, organizational, time management and customer service skills to function effectively in a deadline sensitive environment.**:

**Physical Requirements**:
Physical ability and stamina to operate relevant equipment, to retrieve materials and to perform tasks involving the lifting and movement of library materials and equipment

**Legislative Requirements**:
Works in accordance with all applicable Ontario Public Library, Privacy, Occupational Health and Safety, Employment Standards, Human Rights, Labour Relations and Pay Equity legislation and all other relevant legislation

**Organizational Requirements**:
Adheres to policy and procedures identified in the Hamilton Public Library Manuals
