The Interpretive Guiding Team aims to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for the ecological and cultural history of Banff National Park in our visitors. We do so by offering guided interpretive hikes and delivering interactive presentations, and more

**Responsibilities**:
Educate visitors on the natural and cultural history of Banff National Park and the wildlife in the area
Present to a public audience with interpretive props at designated areas
Sell tours and retail products (including debit/credit transactions and cash out procedures)
Guide guests on themed hikes
Maintain the daily operations and cleanliness of the Wildlife Interpretive Centre
Drive courtesy vehicles when required
Monitor and report on wildlife activity to ensure a safe environment for staff and visitors
Be knowledgeable of Departmental policies including; electric bear fence policies, storm evacuations, medical emergencies and wildlife emergency policies and procedures
Consistent delivery of customized and meaningful interpretation that exceeds guests’ expectations
Ensure a positive guest experience through interaction & providing local knowledge, as well as assisting them as required
Fulfill the role of a Guest Services Attendant when required

**Job Requirements/Qualifications**:
Previous interpretive guiding experience is preferred
Have strong leadership skills, with the ability to organize and maintain control over large groups
Self-motivated, with the ability to work with a team as well as independently
Must be outgoing and enjoy meeting new people
Able to interact with guests and fellow staff sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
Fluency or working knowledge of other languages is considered an asset
Education, training and experience in the area of guiding, education and the environment are an asset
Valid Class 5 or higher Alberta Driver’s license (or equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
A Police Background Check from your home country or province will be required upon commencement of employment

**Work Schedule**:
**Start of Season**: 5 Days On / 2 Days Off

**From Mid-June**: 4 Days On / 3 Days Off

**Dress Code**:
Outdoor Uniform - discussed at time of interview
