**Role description**:
Arcadis is seeking an experienced and motivated **Project** **Director to join our Mobility Advisory Ontario team**. This senior-level role will report to the Business Unit Director, Mobility Advisory, Ontario. You will be responsible for supporting the Business Unit Director, including working with other senior members of the Mobility team. You will also be a technical mentor for the team, with a focus on key clients including MTO, Metrolinx, City of Toronto, VIA Rail, CIB, among others. The role requires a recognized leader with extensive client experience and a technical leader in transportation planning and engineering. This senior role will involve supporting the business unit’s strategic plan to expand the firm’s practice to deliver top-quality transportation planning and engineering projects to existing and new clients.

Business development will be a key component of this role to strengthen our project pipeline through client relationship management, marketing, leading proposals both writing and reviewing/approving. As Project Director you will lead the delivery of multi-disciplinary projects and be responsible for key clients, contributing significantly to our success.

**Role accountabilities**:
You will also support the technical development of staff, including coaching and mentoring on technical issues. Building and maintain strong client relationships, both during and after project completion, will be essential. Your technical expertise will help to identify and realize new client opportunities, and provide technical input to the bidding process, ensuring that technical staff deliver on schedule and budget while exceeding client expectations.

You will promote the regional and global culture of the Mobility Advisory business, evaluate technical competence of staff proposed for projects and identify specific training needs. You’ll take responsibility for developing and managing project team performance to support Arcadis’ business delivery.

You will also support the technical delivery of complex projects ensuring client satisfaction, effective project management and good communication and collaboration between Arcadis colleagues and ensure that local staff understand the benefits of their utilization as team resources. You will lead on the design of innovative transportation planning and engineering solutions for clients that resolve complex problems through coaching and mentoring team members to support the development of Arcadis’ talent pool.

You will perform independent technical reviews for multi-disciplinary projects, encourage innovative and entrepreneurial thinking amongst team members, and promote and market all facets of the company’s services during client engagement. You will manage technical client relationships with key clients and play a major role in selling, promoting effective and efficient bid management, and providing input to specific technical aspects of individual bids to support the production of high-quality successful pursuits. You will also stay informed with developments in the industry sector and with technical and legislative developments and seek out opportunities to develop a strong professional profile at a national level (e.g. conference presentations, publications and participation in technical committees) to coordinate and manage multi disciplinary projects effectively.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 20 + years consulting experience on municipal projects of significant scale and/or complexity.
- P.Eng. Ontario.
- Proven experience in managing and nurturing relationships with key clients, ensuring long term partnerships.
- Visionary approach to driving innovation and implementing cutting-edge solutions in the transportation sector.
- Strong analytical skills and decision-making capabilities to support business growth and client objectives.
- Ability to promote and champion the organization’s goals and values.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective presentations and discussions with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated technical, commercial and delivery acumen.
- Strong capability in mentoring and developing talent within the organization.
- Previous relevant experience including leadership of the development and implementation of engineering solutions.
- Previously worked in a project management role and has relevant and extensive project management experience.
- RAQS qualified (preferred).
