**JOB SUMMARY**

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated Groundskeeper. The Groundskeeper will assist in the regular maintenance of the gardens, plants, and lawns. Elim Village residents are proud of their lawns and gardens, and it is a priority that these high standards are maintained.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Previous gardening experience would be an asset
- Valid B.C. drivers license.

**REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Good working knowledge of provincial legislation, requirements of ALR and programs to promote compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
- Service oriented.
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic.
- Good knowledge of plants, must be organised and able to follow schedule.
- Able to use lawn care machinery and equipment, including cylinder and rotary mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers, brush cutter, hedge cutters and chainsaws.
- Ability to connect landscaping trailers and transport materials with trailers offsite.
- Maintenance of hand tools and basic light machinery.
- Able to work within a team.
- Able to work without direct supervision for periods of time.
- Able to work with seniors and display patience and empathy.
- Great customer service, especially when interacting with seniors.
- Able to represent Elim Village as a professional and respected brand ambassador, embodying the mission, vision, image and values of the organization.
- Able to prioritize work and manage time to meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and comprehension.
- Proven team player who is both flexible and adaptable.
- Professional demeanor and appearance.
- Accountability and dependability.

**ELIGILIBILTY FOR CANADA SUMMER JOBS PROGRAM**
- Must be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the _Immigration and Refugee Protection Act_, for the duration of the employment.
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

**NOTES**
- Hourly rate between $20.70
- This is a temporary position for 8 weeks, 35 hours per week
