We are seeking two** Assistant Governance Officer** to join our team in **VICTORIA, British Columbia, Canada.**
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of governance and pensions? As the Assistant Governance Officer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, supporting the Municipal Pension Board of Trustees. This is your chance to work closely with a dedicated team, ensuring the board meets its governance and fiduciary obligations while managing day-to-day operations.
The services include research and analysis, policy development, development and presentation of reports to the board, appeals registrar support, drafting board correspondence, and management of the board’s confidential records. The Assistant Governance Officer works collaboratively with internal and external resources on topics ranging from pensions, communications, governance, and investment, and has the ability to adapt, prioritize, make decisions and work independently. This position must adhere to the strictest confidentiality requirements.
The Assistant Governance Officer is responsible for project management support to board and board office projects including: coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and managing project timelines, issues and actions.
The Assistant Governance Officer will also provide meeting management services and support for subcommittees and working groups established by the board, ensuing trustees have all necessary resources to fully prepare for, attend, discuss issues and make informed decisions at meetings.

**Hybrid Work Model**
This position is located in our Victoria, BC office. You will have the opportunity to work part of the time on-campus and part of the time off-campus. Guidelines and requirements for in-office presence are determined by operational need and vary according to the unique needs of each business area.
**Responsibilities**
**Project Management**:
- Plans and leads projects on behalf of the board office, including planning, implementation and delivery.
**Governance Support and Advisory Services**:
- Leads subcommittee and board working group meeting planning, processes, and preparation and distribution of meeting agendas and materials, and consults with the chair as required.
- Contributes to the identification, implementation and management of quality standards for board materials and processes to meet governance and service level agreements.
- Follows up on and oversees the implementation of board recommendations and directions and provides governance advice as required.
- Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative and constructive relationships with trustees, agents, service providers and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of service and programs consistent with committee needs and recommendations.
- Communicates on behalf of the board office with internal and external business partners to ensure the implementation of information requests, committee recommendations and direction. Facilitates communication to and from the board.
- Provides governance advice as required.
- Support the appeals registrar with appeals management.
- May be required to liaise with the Office of the Ombudsperson on investigations and complaints.
- Supports the governance team by providing partial coverage where required.
**Information Governance Support**
