**HIRING IMMEDIATELY** for child care cook for our wonderful not-for-profit child care centre in the heart of downtown Guelph. Close to public transit, restaurants and shops.

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:

- To plan and review (with assistance from the Administrator) balanced and nutritional menus on a rotational basis
- To prepare food in accordance with the Ministry and Public Health regulation
- To order required bulk groceries weekly or as required from local distributors
- To launder linens as needed
- To maintain cleanliness of food preparation, dining and laundry areas
- Sweeping and wet mopping floors
- Keeping kitchen and appliances clean and sanitized
- To assist during fire drills and other areas within program where required
- To follow relevant child care program guidelines, policies and procedures
- To follow the goals outlined in the Centre’s Program Statement, routines and philosophy of the child care setting
- To participate in professional development opportunities by attending relevant training sessions and monthly staff meetings
- To establish and maintain positive working relationships with staff, parents, and other professionals and to ensure good communications throughout
- To perform other related duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
MUST HAVE - **Current Food Handlers certification** and related job experience. Past experience working in a childcare setting is preferred.

**Current Police Vulnerable Sector Check**

**Up to date immunizations, including full vaccination against COVID-19**

**Standard First Aid/CPR level C**

**START DATE**:ASAP *This job has the potential to go full-time in January.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract

**Salary**: $19.36 per hour
