As the **Financial Reporting Analyst** at Canfor, you’ll be a vital part of a high-performing Finance team that thrives on precision, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Corporate Analysis (and in the interim, the Director of Corporate Reporting & Analysis), you’ll play a central role in delivering accurate and insightful financial reporting that supports both internal decision-making and external regulatory requirements. If you’re passionate about financial storytelling, love diving into data, and enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, this role is for you.
The life of the Financial Reporting Analyst includes:
- Contributing to the preparation of monthly internal consolidated financial results, reports, and analysis used by senior leadership
- Supporting the development of quarterly and annual external reporting materials, with a focus on Management’s Discussion and Analysis (MD&A)

- Acting as a key liaison with external auditors, particularly for MD&A-related matters
- Collaborating with finance teams across the business to understand key performance indicators (KPIs) and their impact on results
- Supporting month-end close processes, including consolidation and select journal entries
- Helping maintain the General Ledger Chart of Accounts (COA)

- Identifying opportunities to improve processes, enhance reporting quality, and develop new financial insights
- Participating in a variety of ad-hoc, high-impact finance projects
What you bring to the role:
- CPA-CA designation and an undergraduate degree in a related field
- Minimum 3 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of IFRS and regulatory financial filings
- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., JD Edwards), Excel, and BI tools
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ideally, you have a background in consolidation accounting in a multi-divisional, public reporting company and thrive in structured, process-driven environments. You’re analytical, adaptable, and passionate about delivering high-quality financial insights that support strategic decision-making.
