POSITION TITLE: BOARD CERTIFIED BEHAVIOUR ANALYST (BCBA)
A Balanced Approach is a team of intelligent, creative and flexible professionals who are passionately driven to help children on the Autism Spectrum to reach their full capacity by creating and implementing innovative programs and services that are individualized and based on best-practice. We use the principles of applied behaviour analysis (ABA) to create individualized programs tailored to the specific needs of each child.
ROLE PROFILE:
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated BCBA to join our organization You will play a crucial role in providing leadership, guidance, and clinical expertise to a team of professionals working in client homes with individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based services that meet the unique needs of individuals with autism and their families.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership and guidance to a team of professionals
- Program Development: Develop and implement comprehensive, evidence-based programs and interventions for individuals with autism, taking into account their specific needs, goals, and abilities.
- Supervision and Training: Oversee the supervision, training, and professional development of staff members to ensure the delivery of effective and consistent services. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance the skills and competencies of team members.
- Assessment and Treatment Planning: Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals with autism and develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings and best practices in the field. Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals involved in the care of individuals with autism to ensure coordinated and integrated services. Communicate effectively, including providing updates on progress, addressing concerns, and offering recommendations.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure adherence to ethical guidelines, professional standards, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of service delivery. Implement quality assurance measures to maintain and improve the quality of services provided.
- Research and Evidence-Based Practices: Stay current with the latest research, advancements, and evidence-based practices in the field of autism services. Incorporate new knowledge and best practices into program development and service delivery.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for improvement within the organization and implement strategies to enhance effectiveness, efficiency, and client outcomes. Actively participate in organizational initiatives and contribute to the overall growth and development of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's or doctoral degree in psychology, behaviour analysis, special education, or a related field.
- Licensed/certified as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA)
- Extensive experience working with individuals with autism and their families, including conducting assessments and developing treatment plans.
- Proven leadership skills, with experience in supervising and mentoring staff.
- Extensive knowledge of Applied Behavioural Analysis, Verbal Behaviour teaching methodologies, procedures and treatment techniques
- Strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder, its characteristics, and associated challenges.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Proficiency in analyzing data, monitoring progress, and making data-driven decisions.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Dedication to ongoing professional development and staying current with research and best practices in the field.
- Proficiency using computers and various software and technologies
EXPERIENCE
- 1-3+ years of recent experience working with young children with autism
- Clinical experience in behavioural therapy
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
- Commitment to providing an exceptional experience for children and families within a challenging and exciting environment
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) training
