**Job Summary**
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant to join our culinary team. The Kitchen Assistant will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring a clean and organized workspace, assisting in food preparation, and maintaining high standards of food safety. This position is ideal for individuals who are passionate about food and eager to learn in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
**Duties**
- Assist chefs and cooks with food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, measuring ingredients, and assembling dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately after use.
- Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.
- Restock supplies as needed and assist in inventory management.
- Support the team during meal service by delivering plates to the dining area or assisting with plating as required.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance culinary skills and knowledge.
**Qualifications**
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic knowledge of food safety practices is a plus.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
