Assistant Manager In Training at OPM Sales means being a leader and a role-model for all employees within the company. The assistant manager is assisting the store manager with daily duties at the store.

They are responsible for handling payroll, scheduling, employee training and ensuring merchandising and the cleanliness of the store are only a few of the things an assistant manager must handle. OPM Sales/SVP Sports believes that all assistant manager should have the capability of running the store as a manager one day.

You are a leader with drive and motivation to continually develop your skillset and deliver higher results. You enjoy teaching and coaching your team to deliver a better Customer Experience. In the absence of the Store Manager, you will assume all managerial duties. Your performance will be measured by your ability to drive sales and maximize profit goals for a specific store.

**Responsibilities**:

- Training, Motivating and Coaching your team to drive sales that deliver exceptional customer service
- Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by being knowledgeable on all products offered, and teaming up with co-workers to provide excellent sales service
- Delivering sales, customer experience, merchandising, visual, and operational expectations
- Act as a partner between customers, sales associates and store leadership
- Ability to learn and share the expertise of products and trends to fit customer’s needs
- Maintains an awareness of all product knowledge, and current or upcoming product/trends
- Contributes to a positive and inclusive work environment
- Monitoring stock levels
- Promotes and maintains a safe working environment and follows all company protocols for safety and is required to report any unsafe working conditions to a manager.
- Ensures the general cleanliness of workstations, lunchroom and washrooms according to company standards is maintained.

**Qualifications**:

- Demonstrated leadership ability with at least 1 year of experience in a customer-facing sales setting
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Assist in hiring to the needs of the business, actively recruiting to ensure open positions are filled quickly
- Ensure company standards are met for store appearance at all times
- Prioritize plans and adjust schedules as necessary to maximize sales
- Enforce all company policies and procedures, including health and safety, and security
- Ability to engage customers to deliver an elevated experience
- Demonstrate desired behaviours for staff including driving sales, handling difficult sales, cash management and inventory
- Ability to ensure customers are always receiving great service from staff
- Ability to communicate with the store manager to discuss strengths, opportunities, and weaknesses
- Motivated to achieve great results because of one's enthusiasm from interacting with customers and athletic products
- Initiates completion of tasks or activities without necessary supervision
- High level of ethics, values, integrity, and trust
- Flexible availability - including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Additional store manager duties may be required
- Willingness to relocate to another location with OPM Sales
