**Drinking Water Compliance Administrator**

PWBS (Paules Wetside Boiler Services Ltd.) is a Drinking Water Authority. It is our responsibility to promote the intent of the Safe Drinking Water Act. The act recognizes that all people in the province of Ontario are entitled to expect their drinking water to be safe. We work to meet that end through following government regulations, and by working on an ongoing basis to implement best practices both for our clients and our company. As well as operating small drinking water systems, we are licensed under O. Reg. 170/03, 319/08 and 243/07 and offer a wide range of services including upgrading and maintaining drinking water systems, both commercial and residential.

**Scope**

The Drinking Water Compliance Administrator is responsible for monitoring and scheduling the operation of water treatment systems for rural, commercial and public clients on private wells regulated under the Ontario Safe Drinking Water Act. This position involves ensuring compliance with ministry standards, maintaining accurate records, investigating water issues, developing and maintaining office procedures and performing service calls as required.
Providing these services to owners and operators of small drinking water systems will result in maintaining safe drinking water and ensures that the client meets regulatory requirements and water sampling schedules.

The Drinking Water Compliance Administrator will be supported in keeping abreast of current industry best practices to maintain a current understanding of professional practices, standards, and latest developments. Paules Wetside Boiler Services encourages continuous development and regular performance reviews are utilized in the interest of identifying specific individual development needs.

**Responsibilities**
- Administer and adjust sampling and maintenance schedule with appropriate frequency and parameters based on engineering evaluations and per strict regulatory obligations.
- Review all sample report findings, resolve any quality assurance issues, and effectively communicate to clients and Ministries.
- Manage and schedule annual lead sampling program.
- Assess internal programs and data management processes to ensure effective organization.
- Immediately report adverse drinking water results according to strict protocols and legislative requirements and coordinate remediation and resampling.
- Prepare and execute required government paperwork dealing with site operations, including adverse forms and year end reports.
- Maintain client files, register new sites, and update logs.
- Compile and monitor required regulatory documents for sites, understanding the requirements of each site.
- Track employee CEU’s regarding all certifications and organize training requirements.
- Support field staff by performing on site sampling and service as required.
- Perform in house analytical testing and maintain sampling/monitoring equipment regularly.
- Perform related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Secondary school graduation, supported with a community college diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or other related science field is preferred.
- Completion of Small Drinking Water Systems Correspondence course is an asset.
- Knowledge of the Safe Drinking Water Act, specifically Ontario Regulations 170/03, 319/08 and 243/07 or proficient at learning regulations.
- Hold and maintain a Certified Drinking Water Operator Certificate or willing to train.
- Demonstrate high competency using Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
- Strong attention to detail while analyzing and inputting data from a variety of sources.
- Effective written communication skills and ability to write professional reports.
- Strong ability to prioritize duties and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organization, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate effectively and independently.
- Display a positive attitude, strong work ethic and diligent at organization in all areas.
- Possess a valid class G driver’s license with a clean abstract.
- Able to work after/hours weekends as required.

**Job Specifications**

Hours of Work: 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Rate of Pay: Starting at $49,920 to $58,240 depending on qualifications and experience
