Janitorial Associate

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping or scrubbing them
- Gather and empty trash in washrooms and lunchrooms
- Service, clean and supply restrooms
- Clean windows, glass partitions, mirrors furniture, fixtures, walls using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges and squeegees
- Mix water and detergents in containers to prepare cleaning solutions, according to WHMIS specifications
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment in order to prevent damage to floors and fixtures
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies, either manually or by using hand trucks as required
- Remove snow from walkways and spread snow melting materials
- Maintain the cleanliness of company grounds including collecting and disposing of refuse and debris
- Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through compliance with Health and Safety policies.
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must be physically able to fulfill the responsibilities of the position
- Prior experience considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a cooperative environment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Good mathematical and organizational skills
- Ability to work 5 days per week, 4 hours each day
