We are currently seeking a **Shift Lead** to support **our Fort Saskatchewan team**. Under the direction of the Terminal Manager and is responsible for the safe day to day operations and maintenance of the Heartland Facility.

DUTIES
- Provides supervision to and works with the Process Operators and Shift Engineers, by assigning schedules, duties and projects, monitoring work and assisting in problem solving of Terminal operations, maintenance and HSE.
- Liaise HSE Manager to track and evaluate shift HSE performance on;
- Work permits
- Site orientations
- Accident investigation
- Incident reporting
- Training
- Hazard reporting and recognition
- Contractor Performance and adherence
- Maintains records of shift logbooks, equipment checklists, PM checklists
- The ability to provide breaks for crew periodically throughout the shift.
- Monitor Terminal performance and, liaise with Process Operators to ensure Terminal operations are maintained and efficient.
- Ensures all shift staff are adhering to HSE standards.
- Mentor and cross train process operators/shift engineers to fill in when/where required as and ensure all crew members are proficient in all areas of the facility operations.

- Wetprill Operations
- Liquid sulphur receiving
- Degassing
- Equipment Operations (Loader, skidsteer, TM etc)
- Liquid railcar loading
- Remelt Operations
- Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
- Competent in the use and care of tools and equipment common to this trade.
- Performs caretaking and minor maintenance duties.
- Intermediate computer skills
- Intermediate knowledge of mechanical, instrumentation, electrical and other trades
- Intermediate organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently
- Monitor and respond to Terminal alarms
- Physically capability to perform the job duties
- May on occasion be required to perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong time management skills, including an ability to provide structure to scheduling and process to performance.
- Performance monitoring towards attendance and safety is an asset.
- Ability to work within a team environment with other Shift Leads and Managers.
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically, act logically to evaluate situations, solve problems, and make decisions.
- A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong computer skills are required with proven proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).
- Ability to anticipate stakeholder needs, investigate the underlying causes and identify short and long-term solutions.
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize effectively on the basis of the business needs and opportunities.
- Effective and proven organizational skills to meet multiple deadlines and handle multiple tasks in a high pressure and demanding work environment.
- Must hold and maintain a valid Fourth-Class Power Engineer’s Alberta Boiler Safety Association Certificate of Competency (though a valid Third-Class ticket is preferable).
- At least 5 to 10 years of similar leadership experience.
