Abbotsford, Canada Educan Institutional Furniture Ltd. Full time

We are seeking a full-time, permanent **assembly line worker **to help manufacture chairs, desks, stools, and tables at our plant in Abbotsford.

By skipping the middleman distributor, we can deliver fast and cost-effective solutions to all your classroom furniture needs.

In March 2020, Educan came under new management. Together, our team of professionals is continuing the company’s legacy by providing furniture “made right” — products that are durable, environmentally responsible, and locally manufactured.
- Transport materials between warehouse production zones
- Record and verify stock
- Operate manual and hand-powered tools (mallet, hand drill, etc.)
- Sand furniture
- Stack and package finished products
- Laminate tabletops
- Assist other assemblers when required
- Perform work in accordance with quality standards and safety procedures
- Participate in continual training and development
- Clean and review products prior to shipping
- Execute daily work instructions as directed by the Supervisor
- Lift and carry products (up to 40 pounds)
- Assist in metal, wood and paint shops when needed
- Report safety issues
- Manage housekeeping activities when requested
- Collect and properly dispose of garbage
- Experience and training with operating a forklift would be an asset_

**Additional requirements**:

- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing for long periods of time and lifting heavy loads of up to 40 lbs.)
- Ability to work on a team and communicate effectively
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Familiarity with power tools and machinery is a plus
- Commitment to safety rules

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
