**About the Position**:
As the Valuation Analyst, you will play a critical role in assessing the value have the value of Equiton’s real estate assets. Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Finance, you will drive market intelligence to support corporate decision-making and will work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
**Key Functions and Responsibilities**:

- Research sales, rents, costs and conduct market research of comparable companies within the real estate and private equity industries to identify strengths and opportunities.
- Perform valuations of assets and liabilities as required for management planning and financial reporting.
- Analyze, validate, and explain real estate investment opportunities to help identify potential risks.
- Perform data mining to find patterns and trends that can drive operational efficiencies.
- Actively contribute to research, report generation, and financial modeling.
- Prepare detailed valuation reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist with quarterly/annual audit of the fund’s valuations, and more frequently if required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather relevant financial and operational data.
- Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting valuation practices.
- Provide insights and recommendations based on valuation findings.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines in all valuation activities.

**Required Skills and Abilities**:

- Proficiency in financial modeling and valuation techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical, comprehension and problem solving skills
- Effective stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels
- Concise presentation skills and comfortable presenting at all levels
- Highly motivated, accountable and organized
- Excellent accuracy, attention to detail and follow-up skills
- Familiarity with financial software and tools, such as Excel
- Knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.

**Education and Experience**:

- 5 + years of experience in real estate valuation, investment analysis
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, accounting, finance, or a related field
- CFA is considered an asset
- A license in AIC
- Experience in investment, financial services, and/ or real estate property management is preferred
