Driver- Delivery Associate

**Job Title: Delivery Associate - Driver**

**Department: Yard - Driver**

**Rate of Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 (depending on experience)**

**HOURS: 42.5 hrs per week.**

**7:30AM to 4:30PM (Mon-Thurs)**

**8:30AM to 5:30PM (Mon-Fri)**

**8:00AM to 3:00PM (Sat)**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**:
The delivery driver is responsible for delivering products and/or supplies to customers, vendors, jobsites, or other corporate locations. Duties include operating freight handling equipment, maintenance and operation of company vehicles, verification of administrative paperwork, and working with the public at large. The delivery person must safely perform all assigned tasks with sufficient speed and accuracy to avoid adverse impact on the level of customer service.

**DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:
ú Move heavy and bulky merchandise for customers and for sales personnel.

ú Advise supervisor of shortages and damaged goods.

ú Do odd jobs and run errands.

ú Perform light vehicle maintenance (check oil, etc.)

ú Maintain vehicle maintenance records.

ú Check delivery documents.

ú Report company vehicle maintenance needs to supervisor.

ú Follow company procedures regarding required signatures, forms, receipts, etc.

ú Report complaints from customers to management.

ú Assist in loading and unloading merchandise and materials.

ú Follow all safety precautions when operating company vehicles and loading or unloading freight.

ú Be alert for sales opportunities.

ú Make suggestions for rule, policy, or procedure changes when you believe such changes will improve sales, profits, and/or morale. etc.

ú Follow all delivery and receiving procedures and company policies as determined by management.

ú Follow proper documentation procedures for any merchandise that is to be returned or refused.

ú Maintain proper security over merchandise and delivery documents.

ú Attend meetings, training sessions, etc. as required.

ú Work on additional duties and assignments as assigned by management.

ú Work in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation, as well as use of good common sense.

ú Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management to have the situation corrected.

ú Other duties as assigned by the Manager

**QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS**

ú High School graduation or equivalent.

ú Must possess a valid G Driver’s License with good driving record and /or

ú a DZ Driver’s License with a good driving record

ú Able to perform physical work and heavy lifting (up to 100lbs) on a regular basis

ú Previous fork lift experience an asset

ú Must maintain a good driving record and lawfully operate all company vehicles used to make deliveries.

ú Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, management, other employees in person, by telephone, or by FM radio.

ú Must be able to visually verify contents of shipments.

ú Must safely operate loading, unloading, and transfer equipment (forklifts, pushcarts, computer, etc.), as well as company vehicles. Must safely secure cargo.

ú Must move merchandise weighing up to 100 pounds to or from company vehicles in the delivery process.

ú Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere

ú Able to work outside in all weather conditions.

**Salary**: $18.00-$23.00 per hour

- Elmvale, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
