Junior Carpenter

We are looking to a dedicated, hardworking and detail-oriented person to join our team.

**Duties/Responsibilities**
- Assist Carpenters, Suppliers and Supervisors in all tasks including cutting materials, holding materials, etc.
- Ability to operate hand tools and other small tools such as power tools, table saw, skill saw, etc.
- Set up, move, and take down ladders, scaffolding and other temporary structures and unloading construction materials to work areas.
- Assist in interior construction including installing trim, flooring, stairs, framing, installation of doors and frames, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining mouldings, drywall mud/taping.
- Assist in exterior construction including building decks, packing gravel, running big O, window well installation, setting patio stones etc.
- Responsible for the cleanliness of the job site, ensuring installed items are not damaged during the remainder of construction, ensuring all materials and tools are organized and kept in a designated area as well as ensuring materials are being covered outside to protect from the weather.
- Practice and comply with Health and Safety on the job site at all times

**Qualifications and Experience**
**- **Previous experience an asset.
- Valid Ontario ‘G’ driver’s license required. Must maintain a good driving record.
- Punctual, dedicated, hardworking and detail-oriented.
- Willingness to work overtime depending on season, workload, etc.
- Excellent decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work co-operatively in a team atmosphere.
- Willingness to learn and continually develop professional skills and knowledge base.

**Other**

Work hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am-5:00pm. Occasionally work weekends to meet job project deadlines and customer requests.

Projects are approximately within an hour or so of Peterborough, must be willing to travel if needed.

Wage to be discussed, depending on experience and knowledge. Benefits available after 3 months.

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability

**Experience**:

- construction: 1 year (preferred)

**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
